Letter of Credit (L/C): conditional payment commitment in writing by a financial institution (usually a Bank) for the beneficiary of L/C (usually the seller or service provider) provided that the beneficiary must present appropriate documents with all terms specified in the L/C, Practice for Documentary Credits (UCP) referred to in the letter of credit and in accordance with the standard practice of international banks used to examine documents in documentary credit method.
